Jennifer Love Hewitt —”I’m Falling in Love with My Body”
Written by on October 23rd, 2010

Jennifer Love Hewitt has been known for her petite physique almost as much as she has been for her starring roles. In fact, John Mayer’s song “Your Body is a Wonderland” was even rumored to be inspired by the actress. So when J. Love put on a few pounds a couple years ago, the media was quick to notice and showed no mercy. This week’s issue of OK! shows you how Jennifer got down from a size 8 to a slim size 2, giving her the newfound confidence to buy her first string bikini since she was 16!

“I’m falling in love with my body,” Jennifer admits about her new shape.

This acceptance wasn’t easy to come by, though. In 2007, after a few unflattering pictures of Jennifer in a swimsuit appeared on the Internet and sparked a hurtful debate over the actress’ weight, Jennifer quickly began to lose her self-esteem.

“I questioned everything I put in my mouth after [that],” Jennifer reveals. “It challenged my confidence.”

She began wearing baggy clothes in an attempt to shroud the figure she once flaunted. While she defended her weight to the media, in reality “I had to get over the fact that I was bummed out people thought I was fat,” Jennifer says.

After watching the dramatic transformations on The Biggest Loser, Jennifer became inspired in 2008 and hired a personal trainer. Then the real work began.

After not exercising for a year, it took a while for Jennifer’s body to adjust to the vigorous workouts. The first few times she got sick and “A couple times I stopped in the middle and burst into tears because I felt like I couldn’t do it. I was torn to shreds physically, mentally and emotionally,” Jennifer recalls.

But all that pain paid off. Now, J. Love is loving her new body and is working hard to maintain it through a healthy lifestyle of intense workouts and a smart diet.

Jennifer sticks to an hour-and-a-half-a-day workout schedule which includes “cardio, cardio, cardio” as well as weight lifting, spin classes and eating healthy foods six days a week. “Then I have one cheat day,” Jennifer admits.

Jennifer Love Hewitt Refuses to Weigh Herself
Written by on July 18th, 2010

The Ghost Whisperer star is convinced women the world over would feel better if they followed her example and threw out their bathroom scales — because she feels far more confident about her body since she did so.

“I don’t have scales any more and I don’t weigh myself,” she said. “I would urge women everywhere to throw out their scales.

“Even when I go to the doctor’s office I’m like, ‘Don’t tell me’. Just write it on your chart and don’t tell me.’ It does you no good to know.”

Jennifer recently urged young women not to obsess about weight.

“When I meet young girls, I’m always like, ‘Just do me one favor,’” she said last month.

“Love what you look like right now — and remember I said it 10 years from now because it’s the greatest gift I can give.”

Jennifer Love Hewitt's As-Seen-on-TV Workout Plan
Written by on April 7th, 2010

How did Jennifer Love Hewitt get her hot bod?

An infomercial!

“I just got this machine called the Ab Circle Pro — I ordered it off TV, and I love it!” the 31-year-old Ghost Whisperer star tells UsMagazine.com about the $200 fitness machine that helped her get her flat belly.

She adds: “It’s amazing. It’s probably my best secret!”

What else does the 5-foot-3 actress — who lost 15 pounds last summer — do to stay fit?

For her upper body, she says she does “three sets of 20 push-ups, [dumbbell] flys, bench presses, shoulder presses and bicep curls” three to four times per week. She also does the same amount of lunges and squats before focusing on her core and doing 30-second body planks and a few sets of 20 crunches.

“Usually with my trainer, we also mix in some interval training, like 10 minutes on the treadmill or jumping rope,” she says of her cardio routine. “On days that I can’t get to her, I do the elliptical or the treadmill for 30 minutes or so each time.”

Hewitt isn’t just displaying her svelte figure at the gym. She also ditched her dowdy duds and has begun showing off her curves in body-hugging dresses by Phillip Lim and Herve Leger.

“I’ve kicked up the glam,” the star — who recently split from costar Jamie Kennedy, 39 — tells Us. “You carry yourself differently in things finished with dazzle.”
