JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT’s spooky TV series GHOST WHISPERER has been brought back from the dead – TV executives at ABC have given the show a lifeline. The long-running drama was axed last week (ends21May10) as part of a sweep by executives at CBS. But Hewitt’s co-star and ex-boyfriend Jamie Kennedy has revealed there is still “life” in the programme after ABC chiefs expressed interest in picking up Ghost Whisperer for its future schedule. He says, “They are talking about it, so that’s cool. We haven’t exactly gone into the light, we haven’t crossed over, but we’ve got some life.” Ghost Whisperer premiered in 2005. From Contact Music |

Melinda’s (Jennifer Love Hewitt) investigation of a poltergeist in the hospital leads to a showdown with supernatural forces terrorizing her and her son on tonight’s “Ghost Whisperer.” “We have lots of strange children marching around in scary masks, which is so creepy,” Jennifer tells ET. “It’s like, ‘Why do we always have to make children creepy?’ I’m constantly asking the producers. I’m like, ”Can’t we just have a child who’s not creepy, because it freaks me out. It gives me nightmares and I don’t like it.’” There actually is a non-creepy kid on “Ghost Whisperer,” and that is her son Aiden (Connor Gibbs). “We find out that he has to come to Melinda’s aid and really saves her life in the season finale,” Jennifer says. “The dark side gets extremely powerful very quickly and he’s sort of her only heroic key. So my son gets to kind of be a superhero for the episode, which is very cool.” The “Ghost Whisperer” season finale — possibly the series finale — airs tonight at 8 p.m. on CBS. From ET Online |

The hits just keep on coming. My sources confirm reports that the following CBS shows have gotten the ax. For your consideration, I have put them in a list from most shocking to “yeah, knew that was happening”: * Old Christine Yikes. Talk about cleaning house. But here is your bright side: Rules of Engagement and Medium both got renewed. Also, there is still hope that Ghost and Christine might be picked up by ABC. Poor Jennifer Love Hewitt. But there just might be a plan B for her. I talked to Greg Grunberg yesterday about becoming a series regular on the new NBC rom-com Love Bites. J.Love is guesting in the pilot episode as a free pass for Greg’s character: She’s on the list of celebrities he’s allowed to sleep with. “I end up in a bathroom on a plane with Jennifer Love Hewitt,” he tells me. “I can’t tell you what happens, but it’s very funny. She, by the way, is the greatest.” Perhaps she’ll be back on the show after the mile-high situation? Love Bites is going to have a revolving door of guest stars each week, so this slew of cancellations could mean grabbing up new characters. Who else should that show pick up from the depths of unemployment? CBS is not commenting on these updates, but we won’t have to wait long. CBS upfronts are tomorrow, and I’ll be there to feed you updates. Meanwhile, head to the comments and rant until the shock wears off. From E! Online |
