Loretta Devine Is Added To “The Client List”
Written by Jennifer on January 19, 2012

The cast of Lifetime’s upcoming series The Client List just got better, or if you’re not averse to lame puns, a bit more divine. Loretta Devine is set to play a role in Lifetime series that sounds like it could be quite a bit more scandalous than what we’ve seen from her in recent parts.

The Client List is based on a Lifetime movie from 2010, which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt and Cybill Shepherd and followed a Texas housewife who ends up running a massage parlor that’s secretly a prostitution service. The series will presumably continue the story with Hewitt reprising her role as Riley and Shepherd once again, playing her mother.

According to Deadline, Loretta Devine is set to join the cast as a series regular, playing the owner of the massage parlor.

Dear Jennifer Love Hewitt,
Your new Lifetime Network show, “The Client List,” debuting in April is a disgraceful, inappropriate, and inaccurate portrayal that associates the massage therapist profession with the seedy underbelly of prostitution. This is a stigma that their profession has long been fighting. This show should be cancelled.
Sincerely,
A Former Fan and Lifetime Network Viewer
